Why I Do This Work

I’ve always been fascinated by the people side of leadership. In my years as a senior executive, the “people puzzles” were my favorite part of the job—figuring out how to help someone see what they couldn’t see, having candid conversations that unlocked performance, and motivating leaders in ways that drove greater success.

What I didn’t have was anyone I could turn to for the same level of support I was giving my people.

The coach my company provided was inspirational, but she didn’t have practical experience as an executive. So the work stayed on the surface.

It didn’t touch the gritty, complex reality of leading at the executive level: managing board dynamics, navigating politics, balancing strategic-thinking with tactical day-to-day realities, or shaping a high-performance culture.

I knew I could make a bigger impact by changing that.

I became the coach I wished I’d had.
